Removing Screens in EFI injectors?
Accept y'all guys ever heard of removing the petty plastic screens in the fuel injetors of a two.5 EFI? If so what practice y'all do and what does it do for preformance?
-
Yes, Mike
Take them out. I recall 9 of 10 would recommend they come out. Just use skillful filters, and modify them at regular intervals.
You can pull them out with a Dental Pick blazon of instrument, or some volition "gently" turn a small sail metal spiral into the screen, and then pulli t out like that. Only be careful not to harm anything.

Jay, Unless you took them out, they take to still be in there. What's the easyiest way to check and see if they are there? And so pull them out? Un-aught-tie safe sections of rail?

Mike
Leave injector attached to motor and cut ty rap. , pull track from injector I utilise a four" long dry wall screw and first it in the plastic cone filter and plough it two rounds ONLY... And then with a pair of pliers jerk the spiral head pulling outward and it will dislodge !....
NOTE : MAKE SURE IT HAS A FILTER IN IT IF YOU INTRODUCE THAT Screw AGAINST AN INJECTOR THAT HAS NO SCREEN IT Volition SMOKE THE INJECTOR!
Good luck !

That's what I was looking for! I'll allow ya know!
Thanks Jay!

How deep are those screens? can you meet them through the rubber tubes? How much farther down are the injectors so I don't hurt them.

Injectors with make clean screens menstruum test almost identical to injectors without screens. If the screens are clean, you didn't need them anyway.
Muddy screens in the injectors practice period less, simply estimate what? You must have needed them!
I'll bet that most of the dirt in the screens is from new fuel organisation instalation, tiny bits of rubber from fuel line and such.I remember that the all-time bet is to accept the screens out and run a good inline filter as shut to the fuel rail as possible. It tin exist a fairly form filter, the small stuff will menses through the injector.
Jay is correct. A long drywall screw works great for grabbing the screen.

Tony..........
In relation to using a filter prior to the fuel track.
Would you consider a Kinsler filter, with the removeable stainless element suitable?

225 ProMax
I don't recall a 1996 225 ProMax has the screens ... I just pulled mine autonomously and I don't see any screens.

Graham,
Yes, I think that would be proficient. I utilise an SX filter with the stainless screen. I call back they're about the same as the Kinsler.
Too the pocket-sized particles of rubber from new fuel arrangement installation that I mentioned, the electrical fuel pump is constantly wearing on the brushes. That stuff must get somewhere.
All of the laser injection fuel injectors that I've cleaned came with screens from the factory. Perchance somebody has had them serviced earlier, and left them out on purpose.
Without the screen in place, the inlet bore size of the ProMax injector is 5mm ( .231" ) bore. Some of the screens have a brass body that presses inside the diameter, very easy to encounter. Others use a plastic screen with a thin flange that's the total diameter of the torso, and very close to the O-ring. Kind of sneaky and hard to encounter. Check again.

Got-em-out!
Killer, Got-em-out today! they don't really look similar screens when y'all are looking downwards the fuel rail lines, they look more than similar plastic rings with three footling tab's. one time you get them out (kinda difficult to pull out) they look similar 3/8" long, tubular shaped filters. Mine were about xxx-50% Clogged.
I bet she gunna run amend at present!
WooHoo! Thanks S&F boys!
